Jackson Hill is an electric and double bassist from Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a long standing member of the Rafiq Bhatia Collective (myspace.com/rafiqbhatiamusic) and a frequent sideman with vocalist Nina Moffitt (myspace.com/ninamoffitt). In addition to these long standing collaborations, Jackson has worked with the Brian Horton Trio, Brevan Hampden, Al Strong, William Darity, Lynn Grissett, Larry Draughn, Jr., and many others in his home state of North Carolina. Jackson is a recent graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio where he studied bass with Peter Dominguez among many others. While in Ohio, Jackson performed twice a month with Feveband, a trio with Austin Vaughn and Rafiq Bhatia at the Feve bar and restaurant in Oberlin, Ohio.
